UEL: Burkinabe Star Traoré Nets Brace To Give Ajax 1st Leg Advantage Against Lyon

. Bertrand T‎raore celebrates with Ajax teammate

Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam have one foot in the final of this season’s UEFA Europa League (UEL) after Burkina Faso forward, Bertrand T‎raore scored a brace to aid his team to a 4-1 home win against French side Olympique Lyon.

T‎raore, who is on a season-long loan from English Premier League (EPL) leaders Chelsea, scored the opening goal before Kasper Dolberg and Amin Younes added further strikes to make it 3-0 in favour of the hosts.

Lyon playmaker Mathieu Valbuena pulled one back but any comeback hopes the French side had was extinguished by a second goal from Traore.

The French club will have to score at least three unreplied goals in the second leg in France next week Thursday to edge past their opponents ‎for a UEL final place.

In the other semi-final, Spanish side Celta Vigo will ‎host tournament favourites Manchester United in the 1st leg in Balaidos on Thursday night.
