Osaze’s Strike Fires Madura United On Top
Former Super Eagles forward, Osaze Peter Odemwingie netted his 13th goal of the season to take Madura United FC on top of the Indonesian Liga 1 summit in their 1-0 win against bottom placed Persiba Balikpapan on Monday.
Osaze scored the only goal of the match in the 37th minute, as the game ended 1-0 at regulation time, despite persistence pressure by Balikpapan to level scores in the epic encounter.
The 36-year-old attacker joined the Indonesian club on 3 April 2017 following the expiration of his contract with Rotherham United FC. He scored on his league debut, successfully netting a penalty in a 2–0 triumph against Bali United on 16 April.
Madura United currently top the table with 28 points from 15 games, while Balikpapan stay at the bottom with five points from same number of matches.
