Nigerian Wrestling Champion Power Uti Arrested Over Wife’s Death
The Lagos State police command have confirmed the arrest of Nigerian wrestling champion, Power Uti over the controversial death of his wife, Toyin in their Ilupeju home in Lagos.
Toyin, mother of four, reportedly died on Monday after the husband failed to take her to the hospital, instead Power Uti decided to take the 38-year-old wife to a local church seeking for spiritual help.
Police Public Relations Officer, Famous Cole revealed Power Uti, was first arrested at the Ilupeju Police station before transferring the case to the Criminal Investigative Department, Panti in Lagos on Thursday.
Until her death, the two couple had been married for 10 years, after Power Uti decided to go into full time ministry. Toyin’s body has been deposited at the Isolo General Hospital, in Lagos State.
Power Uti ruled the rings in Nigeria and abroad for about 20 years before finding himself in missionary work for the past 15 years.
