Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric, and Mohammed Salah will battle for the 2017/2018 UEFA best player.

Barcelona star, Lionel Messi, missed out of winning the award last year and won’t be on the podium this year as he did not make the top three.

Ronaldo would be looking to make it a hattrick of the award but would have to slug it out with former club teammate, Modric, and Liverpool’s ace, Salah.

Salah was stretchered off in the first half after sustaining a should dislocation when he clashed with Sergio Ramos in the final of the Champions League. Liverpool went on to lose the match, 3-1 with Gareth Bale scoring two goals.

The winner will be announced– along with the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year and UEFA Women’s Player of the Year – during the UEFA Champions League group stage draw in Monaco on Thursday 30 August.
