Ivorian Defender Aurier Suspended Indefinitely By PSG
French champions Paris St. Germain have suspended Ivorian defender Serge Aurier following the use of homophobic language to insult club coach Laurent Blanc.
23-year-old Aurier said this while fielding questions from fans on social media app Periscope and was also shown calling teammate Angle Di Maria a “clown”. He later apologized for his actions in an interview with Canal Plus and Bein Sports as he said: “What I did was really stupid and inexcusable.
“I really regret what happened. I apologize to the coach and the supporters. I accept all consequences and can only thank Laurent Blanc for all that he has done for me,” he stated.
Serge Aurier is no stranger to controversy after he was banned for three European matches in March 2015 for insulting Bjorn Kuipers after he sent off Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic in a Champions League 2nd leg Round of 16 clash with Chelsea.
