Done Deal: Abdullahi Pens Two-and-Half Year Deal With Bursaspor From Famagusta

Super Eagles defender, Shehu Abdullahi has signed two-and-half year deal on Wednesday with Turkish club Bursaspor SK from Cypriot club Anorthosis Famagusta FC, thereby joining Nigerian duo of Mikel Agu and William Troost-Ekong at the club.
Speaking after completing the two-and-half year deal deal, Abdullahi said he joined the club to make progress and help advance his career. “I came here to help with the attachment. I hope we can achieve great results, I came here to help wedge on the way to Europe and even to be in the Champions League.
“I am very happy to be here. I also want to use this opportunity to thank the band. They tried to reach social media many times. I hope it will be successful here, and at the end of the season we celebrate it as a family here.
“Of course this will give the decision to the manager. I’m ready to play wherever I am assign to play. I heard Paul Le Guen’s name when the Nigerian national team tried to employ him.
“I feel very lucky as a player, because I think it will involve something in my career. Of course, what the hossain wants is important. I like to support the attack. Hodja, except if I don’t have the opportunity to support the attack, ” he said.
The club further disclosed on its website, after the Nigerian star successfully underwent his medical checks before signing the contract. “Shehu’s detailed blood tests are made; orthopedics, internal diseases, eye, ear, nose and throat, general surgery and cardiology departments. Health checks were completed by performing lung, cardiac tests and radiological checks,” the statement reads.
In July 2014, Abdullahi moved from Kano Pillars to Kuwaiti Premier League side Qadsia SC in a deal worth $480,000, of which Abdullahi received $330,000 and Kano Pillars $150,000.
He joined newly promoted Primeira Liga side C.F. União on a two-year deal On 6 June 2015. He later joined Anorthosis Famagusta on a two-year deal worth for the 20% of his re-sale fee in other European club in September, 2016.
Abdullahi was a member of the Super Eagles squad that qualified Nigeria for the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He was also a member of Nigeria’s 35-man provisional squad for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
