Nigeria’s sole representative on the continent, Rivers United FC on Friday arrived Kampala for Saturday’s CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC) match-day three clash against Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (popularly called KCCA).
The Pride of Rivers confirmed their arrival via the club’s official twitter handle, and has since settled for the crunchy tie. “We have arrived in Kampala, Uganda ahead of Saturday’s CAF Confederation Cup game against KCCA,” the tweet reads.
United lost their opening game to Club Africain of Tunisia and later bounced to defeat FUS Rabat in the match-day two clash 1-0 in Port Harcourt, the result which put them in good position to contend for qualification from the group, as all the teams in the Group A standing are currently on three points after round of two matches.
Victory against KCCA in the away tie is another good opportunity for the Stanley Eguma tutored side to enhance their chances of progressing to the next of the competition.
