Wydad Casablanca have won the 2017 Total/CAF Champions League after defeating Egyptian giants Al Ahly 1-0 in the second leg of the final in Morocco (winning the trophy 2-1 on aggregate) on Saturday.
The Morocco champions came out tops over the two legs after playing 1-1 draw with Al Ahly in the first leg in Alexandre last weekend. Walid El Karti netted the only goal for Wydad in the 69th minute to give the Moroccans the win, thereby winning their second CAF Champions League title after winning the first continental trophy in 1992.
Also in the game, former Nigeria’s U-23 striker, Junior Oluwafemi Ajayi was in action for Ahly, but could not save his side from defeat as they fell to the Moroccan giants in the epic clash on Saturday night.
