West Ham Offer £6m Bid For Victor Moses
West Ham have Chelsea winger Victor Moses top of their wanted list and could also resurrect a move for former QPR midfielder Joey Barton.
The Hammers, stung by successive home defeats against Leicester and Bournemouth, face a week of hectic transfer activity with manager Slaven Bilic desperate to add width to his team before the window closes.
West Ham have been keen on Moses for some and are prepared to offer £6million. Chelsea, who values the 24-year-old at around £10m, were reluctant to sell until last week, when they signed Pedro from Barcelona.
If that deal falls through West Ham are likely to ask Tottenham about signing Aaron Lennon on loan while Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj could also be an option.
The club are also reported to be showing interest in Toulouse’s Wissam Ben Yedder, who can play as either a central striker or wide player.
Alex Song, who was on loan from Barcelona last season, is set to join West Ham but is recovering from an ankle operation. With Song still not 100 per cent, the Hammers are considering reviving their move for Barton, who they see as ideal short-term cover.
Barton is a free agent after being released by QPR. He was in talks with the Hammers until they pulled out of a deal two weeks ago following opposition from some supporters.
