United Told to Break World Record to Sign Neymar – Report
The Red Devils have reportedly been told they must smash the world record in order to seal a deal for Barcelona’s Neymar.
The Brazilian superstar has a release clause of £137.8million with the Catalan giants.
Van Gaal is said to be keen on making one last marquee signing this summer, but it is not known whether he will follow through with a bid for Neymar.
In addition to Neymar chase, United are apparently hoping to complete the £95m transfer of Gareth Bale. The Real Madrid speedster had a torrid time for the Spanish giants last season, and could be set for a move back to the Premier League.
Van Gaal is hoping the move can be finalised in the final 72 hours of the transfer window. Also, after much speculation, it seems United are ready to move for Lazio forward Felipe Anderson.
Pedro choosing to go to Chelsea has reportedly prompted Van Gaal to step up his efforts in landing the Brazilian Anderson.
The Red Devils had an £18m offer for the 22-year-old rejected last summer, and are believed to be lining up another bid before the transfer window is up.
