UEFA Picks Istanbul To Host 2020 Champions League Final
UEFA has announced that the final of the 2020 UEFA Champions League will be played at the Istanbul’s Ataturk Olympic Stadium.
The decision was reached at the Thursday’s UEFA Executive Committee meeting in Kyiv and announced by UEFA President, Aleksander Ceferin.
The 76,000-capacity ground hosted the competition’s final played between Liverpool and AC Milan. Liverpool came from behind 3-0 down to win the Champions League on penalties against AC Milan in 2005.
Meanwhile, the 2020 Europa League final will be played in Gdansk, Poland with the UEFA Super Cup being held in Porto’s Estadio Dragao.
The home of the Turkish national team, the Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadı is the largest stadium in the country.
