Super Eagles Defender Omeruo Rejoins Kasimpasa On Loan
Out of favour Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo has rejoined Turkish Super Lig side, FC Kasimpasa from Premier League champions, Chelsea FC on Friday.
The 23-year-old defender was onloan with Kasimpasa during the 2015-16 season before returning to Chelsea after the expiration of the loan deal. He spent the whole of last season on loan with another Turkish side, Alanyaspor.
The former Sunshine Stars defender was part of Chelsea’s pre-season campaign, and was hoping to break into Antonio Conte’s team for the new Premier League season just like Victor Moses did in the previous season. But was later agreed to rejoin the Turkish club before the end of the ongoing window transfer.
Omeruo has fallen down the pecking order in the Super Eagles team as German coach Gernot Rohr recently listed his name on standby list for the crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup double header qualifying games against reigning African champions Cameroon.
