Rivers Utd Set To Commence Preparations, Retain 21 Players Ahead Of New NPFL Season

Rivers United FC have concluded plans to resume preparation for the 2017/18 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season on Monday, October 16. The management of the club later decided to retain 21 players ahead of the new season.

 The players retained by the management of the Pride of Rivers include, club captain, Festus Austine, team’s goalkeeper, Sunday Rotimi,  Abiodun Akande, Chiwendu Ali, Bernard Ovoke and Guy Kuemian. Others retained on the list are, Ayobami Asekunowo, Obomate Frederick, Semiu Liadi, Weli Christian, Bolaji Sami, among others.
Meanwhile, General manager of the club, Chief Okey Kpalukwu as well as technical manager, Stanley Eguma spoke to club’s official website about the club’s pre-season plans for the new season, as they plan to finished among top teams in the forthcoming NPFL season.
The retained players are:
