Red-Hot Martins Fires Hat-trick, Samuel Grabs Brace As Ndidi Sees Red In Leicester Win
Nigerian striker, Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins escalated his weapon of mass destruction machine by scoring a hat-trick for Shenhua Shanghai in their 4-2 win against Hebei CFFC in the Chinese Super League clash decided on Saturday. It was Martins’ CSL first appearance this season.
Chengdong Zhang opened scoring for the visitors 48th minutes into the game, before Obagoal equalized for Shenhua in the 62nd minute.
Argentina star, Ezequiel Lavezzi extended the lead again for Hebei in the 64th minute, Martins responded with a brace in the 76th and 90 minutes respectively, while Fredy Guarin made it 4-2 for Shenhua.
Elsewhere in Russia, Nigerian striker, Aaron Samuel Olanare netted a brace for Amkar Perm in their 2-1 comeback win against 10-man Lokomotiv Moscow in the ongoing Russian Premier League.
Manuel Fernandes scored first from the penalty spot 17 minutes into the game, Samuel also equalized from the penalty spot in the 48th minute, before adding the second in the 59th minute. Lokomotiv ended the game with 10-men after Igor Denisov bagged second yellow on the stroke of 90 minutes.
Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi was sent off after receiving second yellow in Leicester City’s 0-2 away win at Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League tie on Saturday. Vicente Iborra and Jamie Vardy scored the two goals for Leicester.
Also in the Chinese Super League, Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo missed a penalty as Changchun Yatai lost 1-2 to Guangzhou R&F FC. Changchun also finished the game with 10-men.
