Over 467,000 Sign Petition Demanding Ramos Be Punished For Salah’s Injury
Well over 467,000 people have signed an online petition to demand that both UEFA and FIFA punish Sergio Ramos for injuring Mohamed Salah in the final of the UEFA Champions League.
Ramos and Salah both engaged in a duel arm-in-arm but Salah came out of the duel injured after Ramos fell on his arm.
The injury forced Salah out of the match, and further diagnosis showed he suffered a shoulder dislocation.
Real Madrid would go on to win the final 3-1.
The incidence was met with great displeasure from a section of football fans across the globe as some went further to create an online petition seeking 500,000 signatures. The petition is to make the two topmost football governing body, UEFA and FIFA to punish Ramos.
According to the petition initiated by one Mohamed Salah Abdel-Hakeem, he insisted that Sergio Ramos intentionally kept Mohamed Salah’s arm under his armpit, causing dislocation of his shoulder ot only causing him to miss the rest of the game, but also missing the FIFA World Cup 2018.
It was added that Ramos kept acting that Liverpool players fouled him falsely, causing the referee to give Manne a yellow card he did not deserve.
“Sergio Ramos represents an awful example to future generations of football players. Instead of winning matches fairly, he uses tricks that defy the spirit of the game and fair play.”
“UEFA and FIFA should take measures against Ramos and similar players, using the video recordings of matches to keep the spirit of the game,” he maintained.
Presently, the petition is just 32,520 short of reaching the targeted 500,000 signatures.
