Okpotu Receives NPFL Top-Scorer Award From Rashidi Yekini Foundation
Lobi Stars striker Anthony Okpotu was on Saturday in Ibadan honoured by the Rashidi Yekini Foundation with an award for emerging Goal King of the past Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
Okpotu, 23, finished top scorer with 19 goals. He was handed his award, which carries a cash prize of 100,000 Naira, by Yekini’s second daughter, Yemi.
The event was grace by former international Felix Owolabi as well as the Oyo State sports commissioner Abayomi Oke, Rasheed Balogun of Shooting Stars and Lobi Stars vice-chairman Mike Idoko Okpe.
This is the third year running that the Yekini Foundation has honoured the NPFL hotshot as they have also feted Gbolahan Salami and Godwin Obaje. Okpotu supported by the high table to display his dummy cheque.
Previous winner of the award by the Rashidi Yekini Foundation include, Gbolahan Salami (who won the maiden edition in 2015), Godwin Obaje in 2016 and Anthony Okpotu who won the latest edition after finishing top-scorer with 19 goals.
