NPFL: Odey Fires MFM Victory Against Wikki As Nasarawa Shock Sunshine At Home

League hotshot, Stephen Odey extended his goal tally to 17th after helping Lagos club, Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) FC close gap on table toppers Plateau United, following their 1-0 win in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match-day 29 fixtures on Sunday against visiting Wikki Tourists FC at the ‘Soccer Temple’ Agege Stadium in Lagos.
Odey scored the only goal quite early on the 17th minute, by helping the Olukoya Boys edging closer to fulfilling their dream of playing continental football next season. There was no response from Wikki as hosts MFM ran away with slim victory in the epic encounter.
Nasarawa United FC recorded the only away win of the weekend after beating hosts Sunshine Stars FC 0-1 in Akure. Abdulrahman Bashir scored the only lone goal of the game in the 39th minute, to hand the Duke Udi led technical crew their shocking home defeat.
Former champions Kano Pillars defeated reigning champions, Rangers International FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano on Sunday. Jamiu Alimi and Junior Lokosa were the scorers for Pillars.
Elsewhere at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, Lobi Stars compounded Remo Stars relegation worries with a 3-2 win. Anthony Okpotu scored first nine minutes into the game, Victor Chiduma grabbed the equalizing goal for the Sky Blue Stars in the 13th minute.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah recorded a slim 1-0 win against former champions Enyimba International FC in their Oriental derby clash decided at the Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium in Nnewi. last season’s top-scorer, Godwin Obaje scored the only goal for the Anambra Warriors in the 50th minute of the tie.
Luck ran out for league leaders Plateau United as they lost 1-0 to Niger Tornadoes of Minna. Samuel Agba scored from the penalty spot quite early in the fourth minute of the game, the match did not work according to plan for the Kennedy Boboye tutored side as they lost vital three points.
Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) steered clear their relegation survival battle by beating Katsina United FC 1-0 at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba in Ibadan. Wasiu Jimoh was the main hero, after he broke the deadlock for the Oluyole Warriors in the 44th minute of the encounter.
Akwa United thrashed Gombe United FC 3-0 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
