NPFL: Abia Warriors, Katsina Utd Record Massive Home Wins As Nasarawa, Kwara Utd Settle For 3-3 Draw In Lafia

Abia Warriors FC and Katsina United recorded the highest goals in week nine of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) round of matches by defeating Yobe Desert Stars 3-1 and FC Ifeanyi Ubah 3-0 respectively.
Ndifreke Effiong netted a brace for the Umuahia side in the 10th and 29th minutes, Obi Samson scored the third goal in the 16th minute, while Manika Usman reduced the tally for the visitors in the 74th minute to end the game in favour of Anambra Warriors against the newly promoted Yobe Desert Stars.
Katsina United FC also recorded big following their 3-0 win against visiting FC Ifeanyi Ubah on Sunday. Eric Dufegha opened scoring 40 minutes into game through a powerful header, Tasiu Lawal doubled the lead in the 45th minute, while Destiny Ashadi completed the rout in the 51st minute of the epic clash.
Elsewhere in Maiduguri, El-Kanemi Warriors defeated 10-man Go-Round FC 2-1 in another thrilling encounter. Bello Musa Kofarmata opened scoring in the 37th minute, Eta Okon Otop leveled scores for Go-Round in the 44th minute, Nura Mohammed got the winning goal from the penalty spot in the 85th minute. Ebuka Akobundu got the referee’s marching order in the 64th minute as Go-Round were later reduced to 10-men.
Heartland FC produced another classic show by defeating Wikki Tourists 2-1 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri. Abubakar Umaru put the visitors ahead eight minutes into the game, Nnamdi Egbujor equalized for the Nazi Millionaires in the 13th minute, while Kennth Ikwugbado scored late in the added minutes for Heartland.
Both Kano Pillars and Enyimba International FC settled for a 1-1 in clash of the titans at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano. Junior Lokosa scored first for the home team in the 36th minute, after which Emmanuel Anyanwu scored an own goal into his own net in the 40th minute, to give the Peoples’ Elephant vital away draw against their bitter rival.
Nasarawa United failed to capitalized on their home lead as they played out 3-3 draw against visiting Kwara United in Lafia. Seun Sogbeso Bisayo opened scoring from the penalty spot in the 2oth minute, Stephen Alfred equalized for the Harmony Boys in the 65th minute.
Rivers United FC recorded a convincing 2-0 win against Niger Tornadoes at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt. The duo of Henry Chikere Osita and Emeka Ogbugh got the goals for the Pride of Rivers in the 17th and 29th minutes.
