NOC Scribe Popoola Conferred With ‘Mayegun’ Oke Ila Orangun Chieftaincy Title

Secretary General of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Tunde Popoola was on Wednesday awarded the Chieftaincy title “Mayegun” of Oke Ila Orangun by HRM King Adedokun Abolarin, Aroyinkeye 1 .
The colourful event which took place at the palace of the paramount ruler of the ancient kingdom, had in attendance, Osun Metropolitan Lion’s Club members, family and friends from all spheres of life.
A visibly elated Oba Adedokun Abolarin said Popoola is a worthy son of the land and deserves to be honoured for his achievements as a person and also for all he has done for the development of the ancient kingdom.
In his own reaction, the scribe of the NOC, Tunde Popoola while speaking with saharareporterssport.com thanked the monarch for honouring him, saying the title would spur him to do more for his community and the State as a whole.
“I look forward to doing more for my people. I am so proud to come from this wonderful town and my people are so warm and accommodating. I have lived a life of selfless service and it won’t stop. I will keep on with what I have been doing for my community and the state as a whole and hoping many others will join in this too.”
