Nasarawa Amazons manager, Christopher Danjuma has expressed confidence his champion squad will be able to retain their Nigeria Women Premier League trophy this season in style.
Nasarawa Amazons will be looking to up the ante when they welcome FC Robo of Lagos at the Lafia Township Stadium on Saturday 7th of April.
The Falconets gaffer spoke to saharareporterssport.com about the need for the Almakura Girls to start well and turn the venue into a fortress.
“In life, when you do well there are a lot of expectations and challenges,” Danjuma said. “Our aim is to start so well and have a mindset for victory in all our games. We are defending champions, so it means we need to work extra hard if we are to retain the title.
“It’s going to be a strong battle. I am anticipating a tough, strong and an exciting season. But a challenge is good for everyone and the team. It will help us grow from strength to strength.” Danjuma also hinted saharareporterssport.com on how far he thinks the Falconets will go at this year’s FIFA U-20 Women World Cup, taking place in France later this year.
“I understand a lot is expected from the girls. We are strong and ready for the battle ahead of us and we shall put in all our best to come back home victorious. The team in the past has gotten to the final twice, but lost on both occasions.
“We as a team just want to take the games as they come with a mindset of going past the previous records. We have a strong team that can spring out surprises,” he concluded.
