Modric Beats Ronaldo And Salah To Win FIFA Best Men Player Award
Croatian ace, Luka Modric added another star to his badge by beating Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohammed Salah to receive FIFA’s award as the ‘Best Men Player’ of the year.
Modric, 33, who had in August shrugged off competition from Ronaldo and Salah, repeated the same feat to claim the award as the best player in the world.
Speaking after receiving the award, Modric said, “It is an amazing feeling. I feel so proud and honoured. It is a special night for me and a special moment in my career. It is a day to enjoy.
“This recognition that I am receiving from everyone is for me the most important thing. There is no prize for this.
“It is something really special and I am thankful to those who are there behind me and supporting me. So thank you!”
Modric moved from Tottenham to Real Madrid in 2012 after playing for four year with the English club. Since his transfer, Modric has been an integral part of the Madrid team, guiding them to three UEFA Champions League title while also leading Croatia to the final of the World Cup.
