Messi To Captain Barcelona In New La Liga Season

Lionel Messi has been named the new captain of FC Barcelona following the departure of Andres Iniesta.
Messi, 31, who has been in the club since age 13, would be leading the team in the 2018/2019 season.
Barcelona announced that Messi would be assisted by Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquet.
Busquets was named as the first vice-captain, followed by Pique, who has been at FC Barcelona since 2008.
Messi would be hoping to build more on the success of the club in the new season and would hope to lead the team to success in continental competition.
As the new La Liga season kicks off, Barcelona would be welcoming Alaves.
