Maureen Mmadu Leads Norwegian Team Avaldsnes To Europe

Ex-Super Falcons star, Maureen Mmadu, over the weekend in Norway, continued her steady rise as a manager when she helped Avaldsnes IL, to claim the second position in the premier league and thus earning a spot in next year’s European Champions League.
Mmadu, who is one of the most capped Super Falcons players with over 100 caps, is the assistant coach of Avaldsnes, as well as the head coach of the same side in the second division.
The Onitsha, Anambra state born former midfielder expressed her happiness over her team’s achievements this season. ” l am very happy and also congratulate the team for this achievement,” she said.
” Last season, we were placed fourth in the league,thank God, we did better this season by coming second in the league and also qualifying for the European Champions League,” the former World Cup star and first Nigerian female to coach a top European side, added.
Interestingly, Mmadu also led the second string side of the club to a second position in the second division of the Norwegian female football league in the just concluded season.
