Madagascar has qualified for the 2019 edition of the Total Africa Cup of Nations becoming the first country to qualify for the finals.

The qualification becomes the first time the team would be appearing at the continental competition since 1957.

Madagascar defeated Equatorial Guinea 1-0 in the fourth fixture of the qualifiers grabbing 10 points on the way.

The Barea top Group A with 10 points, four more than Senegal who face Sudan later in Khartoum.

The fans could be heard chanting ‘Arabaina’ which means congratulations in the local Malagasy language.

Madagascar, who have been unbeaten in the qualifiers, will be facing Senegal and Sudan in the last two fixtures of the qualifier. The outcome, however, will have no impact in the qualification of Madagascar.
