Kante Named EPL Player Of The Season
Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has been named Premier League Player of the Season after a successful debut season with the Blues helping them to win the league title.
The 26-year-old, who was also picked won PFA and Football Writers’ individual awards, has enjoyed an impressive first season at Stamford Bridge.
He is just the second player to win the title in successive seasons with two different clubs after following last year’s title win at Leicester with another Premier League winner’s medal this term.
The France international has made 34 top flight starts this season and beat team-mates Eden Hazard and Cesar Azpilicueta to the EA Sports prize. Harry Kane, Dele Alli,Jan Vertonghen, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez were also on an eighjt-man shortlist .
“It’s a huge honour to be named player of the year by such big names in football and I want to thank everyone who voted for me,” Kante said. “I work hard in training, I try to give my best and I work with so many very good players; that’s why we won the league two times.”
Kante’s solitary Premier League goal came in the 4-0 victory over Manchester United in October. Kante can cap a stellar campaign with FA Cup victory in Saturday’s Final at Wembley against Arsenal.
