Iheanacho Not Listed As City Cruise To Victory Over West Brom
Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho was missing again as Manchester City moved within a point of securing Champions League football after a comfortable 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion in their Premier League clash on Tuesday at the Etihad Stadium.
First-half goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne and a Yaya Toure strike after the break sealed the points against an Albion side who offered little threat throughout the game until Robson-Kanu claimed a late consolation.
It mattered little as City were able to see out the remaining minutes to move to the brink of guaranteeing their position at European football’s top table for the next campaign.
This, however, was always going to be Pablo Zabaleta’s night, with the Argentine cult hero coming on to a standing ovation on 62 minutes to play one last time at the Etihad Stadium.
Meanwhile, City fans had sung his (Zabaleta) name from the first minute until the last as they paid tribute to their departing hero. City only need to tidy up in the last game before confirming their Champions League spot.
