How Dalung Led Buhari’s Delegation To Watch Joshua Victory Fight In Cardiff
Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung led the Federal Government delegation to watch Anthony Joshua’s victory fight against Cameroonian-French opponent, Carlos Takam at the Principality Stadium, Cardiff on Saturday, saharareporterssport.com can report.
Dalung, alongside the Ogun State Deputy Governor, Mrs Yetunde Onanuga shared some victory moment with the heavyweight champion after stopping his opponent by a technical knockout in 10 rounds of their bout, thereby conveying the president’s goodwill message to the rave of the moment British boxer with Nigerian heritage.
“I have conveyed the goodwill message of his Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari to him when we met after the fight. I imperatively made him understand how much the government and the people of Nigeria are proud of his achievements as our son,” Dalung wrote after the fight in the United Kingdom.
Joshua is the current IBF, WBA (Super) and IBO heavyweight champion, having held the IBF title since 2016, and the WBA (Super) and IBO titles since April 2017. He recorded his 20 straight professional boxing knockouts after beating Takam on Saturday.
