Pep Guardiola has won the Barclays Manager of the Month award for October, the second month in a row the Manchester City head coach has claimed the prize.

He beat Mauricio Pochettino, Arsene Wenger and Sean Dyche, after his side won all three fixtures in October. They beat Stoke City, Burnley and West Bromwich Albion during the month, scoring 13 goals in the process.

The Spaniard, who has claimed the award three times since moving to the Premier League last season, was selected by a combination of votes from a panel of experts and the public.

Also, Manchester City forward, Leroy Sane’s impressive displays in October have earned him the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award.

The German winger scored and assisted in each of his side’s three wins in October as Manchester City made their best start to a Premier League campaign, racking up 28 points from 10 matches. No player matched the 21-year-old’s goal contribution of last month.

He received the most combined votes from a panel of experts, Premier League captains and fans to claim the prize ahead of five other nominees. Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Glenn Murray, Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal, Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope and Wilfried Zaha, the Crystal Palace winger, completed the shortlist.

Southampton midfielder, Sofiane Boufal won the October’s Carling Goal of the Month for what he has described as “the best goal” of his career. With just five minutes remaining of Southampton’s home match against West Bromwich Albion on 21 October, the Saints midfielder picked the ball up in his own half, tricked his way past three opponents and then embarked on a mazy 60-yard run before beating Ben Foster with an assured finish from outside the penalty area.
