GOtv Boxing Night 12: Edo Boy Emerges Best Boxer, Wins N2.5m Cash Prize; Fijabi, Oto Joseph Pocket N1m, N500k

Stanley “Edo Boy” Eribo has emerged best boxer at the 12th edition of the GOtv Boxing Night 12, Independence Day Special edition held at the National Stadium, Surulere, October 1 in Lagos.
Eribo was voted best boxer of the night following the 12 rounds entertaining African Boxing Union (ABU) welterweight title defense against Tanzanian Ramadhan Shauri, winning N2.5 million cash prize and the Mojisola Ogunsanya trophy via unanimous decision.
The duo of Olaide “Fijaborn” Fijabi and Otto “Joe Boy” Joseph also got N1m and N500,000 respectively for emerging first and second runners-up in the fights of the night. Fijabi successfully defended his West African light welterweight title with judges unanimous point decision against Ghana’s Ben Ankrah in their 10 rounds bout on Sunday.
In the same vein, Oto Joseph recorded another unanimous point decision win in the Commonwealth Africa lightweight 10 rounds contest against his Malawian opponent, Israel Kammwambe.
Waidi “Skoro” Usman recorded a technical knocked-out win against Tanzania’s Juma Fundi in round four of their 10-round international featherweight challenge bout. Another promising boxer, Rilwan “Baby face” stopped “Tornado” Tonbraye via a round four technical knock out win.
Kabiru “KB Godson” Towolawi knocked out Akeem “AK” Adebayo in the national light heavyweight challenge bout, in round five of their eight round bout while Rilwan “Real One” Oladosu floored Samuel “Omo Daddy” Opaogun in round five of their national lightweight challenge.
Meanwhile, 50 lucky fans went home with GOtv decoders each during the raffle draw.
