NPFL: Enyimba Pip Plateau United To Move Up

Former champions Enyimba International moved up to fifth position in the matchday eight of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after defeating 10-man Plateau United 1-0 at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar on Wednesday.

The Peoples’ Elephant got their only goal of the match after Stanley Dimgba converted a penalty in the 10th minute as Elijah Ogene handled the ball in vital area of the reigning league champions.

Plateau United was later reduced to 10-men after Beninese defender Salomon Junior got the referee marching order on the stroke of 90 minutes as the game ended 1-0 in favour of Enyimba.

Despite the defeat, the Kennedy Boboye tutored side still maintained their second position on the NPFL log. Both Enyimba and Plateau United are representing Nigeria at the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup competitions respectively.
