Done Deal: Igiebor Joins Cypriot Club Anorthosis Famagusta From MLS, Gets Jersey No 3
Nigerian midfielder Nosa Igiebor has joined Cypriot club Anorthosis Famagusta from Major League Soccer League (MLS) side Vancouver Whitecaps.
According to statement released on the club’s website on Friday, the management welcome the 27-year-old midfielder who is already assigned jersey number three immediately after completing the deal.
“Famagusta Anorthosis welcomes Nosa Igiebor and we wish him every success with the palm tree chest,” the statement reads on the club’s official website. Igiebor began his career with Sharks FC, and later moved to Warri Wolves FC.
In 2009 he joined Norwegian club Lillestrom and subsequently played in Israel for Hapoel Tel Aviv ), Real Betis of Spain, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Rizespor. His last team was Vancouver, a Canadian team playing in the MLS Championship of America.
Meanwhile, he played for the Nigeria’s U-23 side that failed to qualify for the London 2012 Olympics, He was a member of Nigeria’s 23-man squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
