Done Deal: Ahmad Gero Pens Two-Yr Contract With Swedish Club Jonkoping Sodra

Alhaji Gero’s younger sibling Ahmad Gero has completed a two year professional contract with Swedish second Division side,Jonkoping Sodra IF in the Superettan league, saharareporterssport.com can confirm.

In a statement released on the club’s website on Monday, the 19-year-old striker completed the deal after satisfying the club during the trials. “It was earlier in the autumn that the Nigerian striker Ahmad Gero played for Jönköping South for a number of weeks.

“Today, the club announces that a 2-year contract is signed. Ahmad will initially have his base in South II but will be on the A-team’s training on and off, including. on Thursday’s start in Elmiahallen,” the statement reads.

Speaking after signing the contract, Ahmad said he is ready to achieve his dreams with the club. “Jonkoping Sodra is a good team and with exciting game pattern. The people in the city and the people here are amazing, just like the fans during the trial matches. I am here to start my future and will do all I can for the club and also achieve my dreams, ” the younger Gero said.

Reacting on the newest addition to the club, veteran midfielder, Christer Persson says: “Ahmad showed us in the autumn that he possesses many interesting features and great potential. He is also a very mature and responsible person, giving him the prerequisites for being able to adapt even outside the pitch in a good way. We have a clear plan for Ahmad both on and off the pitch, and look forward to having him with us in the future, ”


In his own reaction after seeing his brother signing the deal, former Youth international and Ostersunds FK forward, Alhaji Gero expressed his joy for making the dream a reality. “I want to thank almighty Allah and congratulate my brother for signing his first professional contract,” he concluded.

Ahmed Gero previous played for  Ramcy Academy, scoring 10 goals on 12 matches in 2017. He was also the team captain of Nigeria’s U-15 side, and also played five national teams in the African Youth Game, with a total of three goals and two assists.
