Boxing: Anthony Joshua Set To Visit Nigeria In December
Nigerian-British heavyweight boxer, Anthony Oluwafemi Joshua is set to pay a visit to his ancestral home, Sagamu, Ogun state, saharareporterssport.com gathered.
Joshua stopped Cameroun-born French boxer, Carlos Takam in the 10th round via technical-knockout before a large crowd of 76,600 spectators on Saturday in Cardiff.
His family members, friends and well wishers gathered in his ancestral home at Baba Josh memorial Hall in Sagamu, with a giant screen provided by Kwese free Sports, one of the largest Africa’s digital channel.
The Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung alongside Ogun State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga were present at Joshua’s victory fight last Saturday as he retained his IBF and WBA heavyweight titles. The delegation from Nigeria headed by Barrister Dalung conveyed President Buhari’s goodwill message to the boxer.
The 28-year-old boxer now have 20 fights and all ended in 20 knock-outs for the prolific young and dynamic boxer that have taken the world of boxing by storm.
