Battle Of The Eagles: Jos Comes Alive As Fans Troop Out To Cheer Super Eagles In Serbia Friendly
Star fan park, Jos was teeming with Super Eagles fans who were thrilled to experience a night of football action with the Nigerian Super Eagles locked in battle against the Eagles of Serbia. The thrilling encounter was brought to life for the Jos fans courtesy of Nigeria’s premium lager beer, Star.
The premium experience centre located at Star Fan Club in Steffan Hotel, Jos had supporters of the national team engage in banter and conversations as they witnessed the keenly contested fixture between the Eagles and their Serbian opponents.
Both teams kept each other at Bay throughout the first 45 minutes, with the Serbian team enjoying a little more ball possession than the Super Eagles throughout the pulsating encounter.
The Super Eagles however were dogged in defending until the about the 68th minute when Aleksandar Mitrovic scored the first goal, and then the Fulham striker on loan from Newcastle doubled the lead 13 minutes later.
With this result, Serbia ended the Super Eagles unbeaten run of more than 4 months, having previously defeated the likes of Cameroon, Argentina and Poland during an impressive run of form. Nigeria continues their preparation for the World cup with another Friendly match against the 3 lions of England at the Wembley stadium on June 2nd.
