Ahmed Musa Shortlisted For Nigerian Sports Footballer Of The Year
Nigerian ace and striker, Ahmed Musa has been listed alongside Kenneth Omeruo and Rashidat Ajibade as nominees for Nigerian Sports Award Footballer of the Year.
Musa and Omeruo were nominated for their exceptional display with the national team while Rashidat, captain of the female U-20 team was picked for leading the Falconets to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
According to the Chairman of the award panel, Dr. Kweku Tandoh, over two million nominees was listed for the 2018 awards.
“We are quite excited that public interest on the award has grown significantly given the number of nominations received this year for the awards. For us, we have taken time to look at the nominees for the different categories and I can proudly say that the nominees selected for the categories deserve to be winners by all standard,” he said.
Long jumper, Ese Brume, hurdler, Oluwatobiloba Amusan and Joy Udoh-Gabriel will be battling for the Track and Field Athlete of The Year award.
Also, male and female national basketballs teams, D’Tigers and D’Tigress were also pitched with the senior national football team, Super Eagles for Team of the Year award.

Team Sports Person of the Year
Coach of the Year
Combat Sports Personality of the Year (Karate, Judo, Taekwondo, Wrestling, Boxing)

Discovery of the Year
Sports Administrator of the Year and Para Sports Person of the Year.
