5 Star Russia Demolish Saudi Arabia To Claim First Win Of World Cup
Denis Cheryshev, 27, came as a substitute to score in both halves amidst goals from Gazinsky, Dzyuba, and Golovin.
Russia grabbed two lates goal to condemn the Asian side to a heavy defeat in the opening fixture of Russia 2018.
The host nation started in a bright way netting the opener in the 12th minute. Yury Gazinsky scored his first international goal by heading home a well-placed cross from Aleksandr Golovin.
Russia lost Alan Dzagoev to a hamstring injury in but the players were quick to bounce off the shock.

Cheryshev, who was brought in to replace Dzagoev, scored the second goal for Russia in the 43rd minute. The Villareal midfielder kept his composure to cut the ball away from two Saudi Arabian defenders and hit a left shot past Saudi Arabia’s keeper, Abdullah Al-Mayoof.
Artem Dzyuba scored the third goal for Russia in the 71st minute, beating his marker and guiding his header into the bottom right corner of the net. Golovin grabs his second assist of the night crossing the ball from the right side for Dzyuba to head home.
Cheryshev hit a screamer from the edge of the box in 90+1 minute to grab his second of the match. Cheryshev got the ball outside of the area before firing a shot into the net.
Golovin scored a well-deserved goal after two assists to be in contention for the Man of the Match award. Golovin found the net from a set-piece, curling the ball around the wall and out of reach of Al-Mayoof.
