10-Man PSG Seal 6th League Cup Title With 2-1 Win Over Enyeama’s Lille
French champions Paris Saint Germain have won the French League Cup following a 2-1 win over Lille Metropole courtesy of former Manchester United winger Angel di Maria’s 74th minute winner.
Javier Pastore’s controversial opener for PSG five minutes from halftime was cancelled out by Djibril Sidibe’s free-kick four minutes after the interval before Di Maria’s winner also came four minutes after midfielder Adrien Rabiot was sent-off for Laurent Blanc’s men.
The win represents a third consecutive League Cup victory for PSG to make it No. 6 thus making the team the most decorated team in French football with 29 titles ahead of the quest to complete a clean sweep of domestic trophies in the French Cup final against rivals Olympique Marseille on May 21.
In a related development, Lille’s Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama played for 90 minutes but could not prevent his side from losing as he concede two goals.
